Touchpad Remote

Wifi mouse/touchpad and keyboard

Reviewed by Ruth

I've used a couple of different remote touchpad apps, initially starting with Edovia's TouchPad which worked for a while and then ceased to work when I went back to use it several months later. I've tried trouble-shooting the authentication error with the developers to no avail.

In the meantime I've discovered Touchpad Remote works quite well, although some of the gestures that you can use on MacBook touchpads don't work (three finger swiping up or down, or across). I use it to turn my iPad into a substitute mouse to give my wrist a break from mouse work. Works well with laptop plugged into external screen and external keyboard. I'd give it 3.5 stars.

Further to comments above about Edovia's TouchPad app, it does work - but only outside the La Trobe network. It uses some of the three- and four-finger swiping gestures that are common on MacBook touch pads, which is handy for MacBook users. Not sure what it is about the La Trobe network that disallows the app to function. If anybody finds out, please post here! Edovia's TouchPad is $5.49 in the app store.
